Heartfelt Farewells Filled with Compassion

If you are here because there has been a death in your family or friendship circle please accept my heartfelt condolences.

There is much to organise and it can feel overwhelming.  As a Humanist Funeral Celebrant I am here to help you through this experience with care and support.

A Personal and Meaningful Goodbye

If your special person wanted something other than a traditional church funeral service, you can arrange a loving farewell ceremony filled with:

  • Personal stories and shared memories

  • Favourite poems and readings

  • Thoughtfully chosen music

  • Warmth, reflection and even a touch of humour where it feels right

Funerals, while undoubtedly a time of grief, can also be an opportunity to honour and celebrate a life well lived.

How the Process Works

In Ireland, one of the first steps after someone dies is to contact the Funeral Director to begin planning the funeral arrangements.

If you're not having a traditional church ceremony, your Funeral Director will usually suggest a celebrant they think would be a good fit and you can ask for me by name if you'd like.

You're also welcome to contact me directly and I will liaise with your chosen Funeral Director to coordinate everything.

Planning the Ceremony

Once we're connected, I will:

  • Call to introduce myself and arrange a time to meet with you.

  • Listen as you share stories and memories of your loved one.

  • Help you choose readings, poems, music or rituals if you'd like

  • Guide you through the practicalities of the service.

With your input, I will write a draft of the eulogy and ceremony script and send it to you for feedback.

If you or any family members would like to write or read your own tributes, we can absolutely include them. You may also wish to incorporate rituals or special elements that reflect the person's values or personality.

The final draft of the ceremony will be shared with you for sign-off.

On the day

I will arrive in plenty of time and make sure everything is in order and deliver your funeral or celebration of life ceremony with care, dignity and empathy.

Fees and Arrangements

In most cases, your Funeral Director will take care of all arrangements, including my fee. I include a €40 client contribution to the Humanist Association of Ireland in my invoice to them and make that payment on your behalf - so there's no need for you to worry about this.

If you engage me directly, I will issue a simple invoice after the ceremony. Either way, I'll liaise closely with the Funeral Director to ensure everything runs smoothly and respectfully.
